Green Lake Park is one of the two options for tourist to see Lake Danao, the biggest and longest lake in the Visayas. It is situated in the northwest part of the lake in the peaceful village of Union, Pacijan Island, Camotes, Cebu in the Philippines. It is a “green park”, family friendly in ambience and is the haven for nature enthusiast and artist.
Green Lake Park lies in a 1.5 hectare of ancient hardwood mangrove forest. It projects a charming serenity that is very relaxing and stress relieving. The wonderful sounds of the trees and singing of the birds makes it more unwinding especially to nature lovers. Some butterflies visit Green Lake Park to pollinate. One can see kids swimming in the lake and fishermen doing their daily activity of fishing. These are things rarely seen in today’s modern and fast-paced life.
Green Lake Park housed a couple of small crocodiles around 3 feet long. Unlike Crocoloandia in Cebu where it has a large variety of Crocodiles from small to adults. The entrance fee of Green Lake Park is P15.00 for adults and P10.00 for children which is used to provide food to these crocodiles as well as the maintenance of the place. The wood carving designs such as crocodiles, goat and dragon are one of the things that amaze the tourists. The bird house is no longer used by birds as they prefer having a nest on top of the trees. After the tour, one can stay at the restaurant of Green Lake Park, eat some foods and sing in the videoke machine. Getting there is easy as it has the same access road with Lake Danao. When you reached Union, there is a big sign going to Lake Danao Park and another sign going to Green Lake Park.
