Bequibel Shell Midden

One of the less explored tourist spots in the historic city of Butuan, the Bequibel Shell Museum houses a mound of domestic refuse containing shells and animal bones, marking the site of a prehistoric settlement. This spot may not be as important to the excursionists compared to the anthropologists who studies prehistoric people and their culture. A midden is the trash of prehistoric people. It is the repository of unwritten events and activities of past human actions. There are two shell middens in […]

Worthy of being dubbed as “the best park in the Philippines“, the People’s Park in Davao continue to amaze local and foreign tourists since its opening day on December 15, 2007 (incidentally, the same day I bought my motorcycle). The opening was led by then Mayor (now Vice Mayor), Rodrigo Duterte, together with the local officials of Davao City. FYI, the current Mayor of Davao City is Honorable Sara Z. Duterte, the daughter of widely-recognized former Mayor, Rodrigo. Davao People’s Park is one […]

La Paz Church: Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church

The La Paz Church is one of the many reasons why tourists visit Iloilo in the Philippines. This historical church, also known as the Nuestra Señora De La Paz Y Buen Viaje, was built in 1870 with the help of the Spanish friars. This church is now known as the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Church, the direct translation of its Spanish name. A temporary church and convent was built in 1847 by Fr. Candido Gonzales. • Come! Discover the Philippines

What makes the Philippines more than a usual holiday destination?

Some say, when the Gods created the Philippine island, they liked it so much, they decided to create seven thousand more. That meant having over seven thousand different views of the sun, and many different beaches like Boracay, which is probably unlike anywhere you’ve ever been.

They say that Gods took their time when they made this paradise. Having thousand of islands also meant that our wildlife and marine life are among the most diverse in the world.

Even our history comes in many chapters, each one with the different theme. Our colors come in infinite forms and our melting pot of cultures contain more than the usual ingredients, so you can expect more than the usual festivals every year.

We’re oriental, and were western too! That’s why no matter where you’re from, the Philippines will feel like home.

Many come here to learn… and play. We just love taking the usual things further like honeymooning , relaxing, partying, and shopping. You haven’t seen a real bargain unless you shop here.

And if we like to over do things here in the Philippines just imagine what it’s like, to be our guest!
